A film project through photography
Expectancy is the theme of the project. Expectancy towards the certain or uncertain future. Expectancy that evolves in anguish, because of the disappointment of a deceived waiting, develops bitterness and alienation from reality.
Two are the characters and their hats – hat as element that defines their troubled identity –. My hat is always ready, I am ready. For what? I take it off to welcome who comes, or I put it on to go to someone? Indeed the hat becomes protagonist of the repetitive and characterizing gesture of taking it off, cleaning it, putting it on.
The project is inspired from the theatrical piece Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett.

The title symbolize of the situation of stasis lived by the two characters. In Waiting for Godot, the two repetitively ask themselves when their friend Godot will show up and what day they are in. Sunday is the main day in which people meet: indeed it's the paradox, and it becomes the metaphor of the ideal psychological weekly timeframe in which anyone or anything is certainly or uncertainly awaited.
From J.Joyce's lesson, Epiphany defines a sudden unexpected revelation, it's the acknowledgement of a part of our own identity, which could happen in any way possible.
